There’s a New Online Magazine in Town – Explore with Cassie Website Launch Party
The city’s lights and Publisher Cassie Hepler‘s sequined Hollywood disco dress (we heard you Tyler Prete!) sparkled in the sunlight a little brighter on Friday, May 8th from 6-9 p.m. as Explore Philly and Explore NJ officially launched the East Coast area’s newest online magazine. Not another boring blog by any means, ExplorewithCassie.com has multiple writers/photographers sprinkled throughout the city and to the shore. Correspondents currently include Pastry Chef Dana Prophet, Jill Beckel, Whitney Ullman and Elspeth Misiaszek – and more in the making. The IT brains behind the operation is fellow Penn State alum Eric Smith, who also has a background in journalism. The team welcomed invited guests to the Stratus Rooftop…

Welcome Two Roads Brewing to Philly, just in time for Philadelphia Beer Week!
By Cassie Hepler What better way to kick off Philadelphia Beer Week than with a totally tubular brewery who is invading the Philly beer scene? Welcome to Philly, Two Roads Brewing from Stratford, CT. We attended a Brewer’s Luncheon with Two Roads Brewing on a Friday afternoon in April at Alla Spina (1410 Mount Vernon Street) to meet the men behind this award-winning Connecticut brewery and their “road less traveled” philosophy. Charming and kind-eyed brand ambassador Clem Pellani was in the house to answer questions. Q: Please tell us about the history and background of Two Roads Brewing? A: It’s a bit of a long story but I will try to make it short! The idea…

Life is Short so Eat Dessert First at Let Them Eat Cake 2015
By Dana J. Prophet Once a year there is a time where cake artists create wedding cake-themed masterpieces – all for a good cause. Let Them Eat Cake is not only a phrase that the doomed Marie Antoinette may or may not have uttered, but it is actually the biggest event where ticket holders can eat delicious cake from area bakeries, restaurants, caterers and culinary students (and why other people don’t write about this amazing event is beyond us). Held in the Crystal Tea Room in The Wanamaker Building, City of Hope, an organization that leads in the research and treatment for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases, sponsors this…
