VIP’s got their own seating areas, and the servants fetched whatever they wanted. The derby was originally organized by Col. Meriwether Lewis Clark, Jr., grandson of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition, after he returned from Europe and witnessed first-hand famous races in England and France. Philly Wine Week 2017 Rocks the Socks Off of Philadelphia’s Winos

The official kickoff party, “Opening Corks”, was held at the Academy of Natural Sciences on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Sunday, March 19th. It was a wine lovers dream as more than 25 vendors were on hand to pour more than 100 unique and hard to find premium wines. Nothing like enjoying a good wine with T-Rex looking over your shoulder. Frogs: A Chorus of Colors at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University

DuBois Perhaps our new favorite exhibit, “Frogs: A Chorus of Colors!” at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University was a journey with frogs from every corner of the world, available to view through May 14th. This is a fun exhibit for kids and families, or if you want to impress a blind date with memorable facts, this is also a good place to go. Tickets can be purchased online and in person. Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Flower Show Kicks off with Holland: Flowering the World
Photos, story by Tiffany Dubois For 2017 the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show will be featuring the land of tulips, “Holland: Flowering the World”, with a celebration of the beauty and ingenuity of Dutch culture, from the vivid and vibrant flower fields to innovative eco-design. Visitors will pass under a brick bridge inspired by the Amsterdam cityscape that will be decorated with Delft tile patterns, overflowing flower boxes and hanging baskets. A floral canopy will also be on display above the Entrance Garden with more than 6,000 fresh-cut and dried flowers hanging down from multi-colored strings above the heads of visitors. Cirque Du Soleil’s Avatar Inspired ‘Toruk: The First Flight’ Preview Peaks Curiosity

The preview was open only to Cirque members and the press, and everyone waited eagerly to take their seats to view the preview inspired by James Cameron‘s hit movie “Avatar“. The story of Toruk is one that everyone in the entire city of Philadelphia should hear. A Na’vi storyteller tells a tale of the Na’vi discovering Pandora 4,000 years before humans ever set foot in Pandora, as depicted in the Avatar. One of the things that we noticed upon arrival was…
