BACARDÍ Untameable House Party on Wheels Rocks Penn’s Landing

Photos, story by Deja Cromartie

What better way to celebrate Halloween then to attend an epic house party sponsored by BACARDÍ? The Spirit brand selected the city of Philadelphia as the first stop for its Ultimate House Party Tour at Penn’s Landing. The “custom-built house with five different rooms – from a spacious living room with couches to a backyard full of party games and activities” was stocked with all the supplied needed to get the party started including the quintessential red cup filled with BACARDI rum cocktails.

The crowd goes wild!

The new BACARDÍ ad, which launched earlier this month, features a traveling House Party which is for REAL. The idea? There is nothing in the way of a good time… especially with a great house party.

C0-Founder Salim Weldon of Whimsicle attends the House Party.

Notable attendees included Canadian electro-funk duo, Chromeo; American hip-hop duo, R. City; DJ Melo-X; MTV VJ host Nessa; celebrity chef, Chef Roble; local Philadelphia street photographer Conrad Benner; and DJ Clark Kent.

Prior to the House Party, BACARDÍ hosted the above notable attendees in an intimate VIP cocktail roundtable for media and VIPs. Moderated by Nessa, the group spoke at length about the multi-faceted artist’s hustle and their passions beyond their platforms, their artistic and personal background and what fuels their hustle.

Philadelphia photographer Conrad Benner, and an eclectic group of influential voices across the art, music, entertainment and food space got together in Philadelphia for a passionate and informative Bacardi-hosted roundtable led by Radio & MTV Personality Nessa on what fuels their intrinsic hustle, in a celebration of the passion they all have to continually perfect and evolve their craft. The goal was to bring together key tastemakers to share with each other how they’ve gotten to where they are and what it means to be an artist today – as art and music worlds collide and social media blurs lines.

Noteworthy sound bites included:

• Melo X announced his new music/art and technology infused project, “CURATE”
• Chef Roble Ali discussed side hustles, how he got started in the biz, and how the traffic to his restaurants comes from his large social media following.
• Philadelphia based photographer Conrad Benner talked how he turned Instagram into a career
• DJ Clark Kent discussed the need to be a passionate music mover in order to be a good DJ, not the other way around.

The evening’s festivities culminated with an exclusive DJ set from Chromeo, who played their popular songs “Jealous” and “Bonafied Lovin’, and a live performance from R. City, who sang their hit single and crowd favorite “Locked Away.”

Chromeo kept the crowd dancing.

Fans were invited on stage to sing and dance with R. City as they performed several songs from their new album “What Dreams Are Made Of”.

Over 250 celebrators danced and partied into the night in this amazing house, equipped with a Bathroom Bar, a dad’s study, a lawn filled with games, make up station and, of course, an epic dance stage. The BACARDÍ Untameable House Party tour will continue down the East Coast stopping in Washington, D.C. (November 13); Atlanta, Ga. (November 20); and Miami, Fla. (December 4).
