With 90,000 square feet of fun and food ready to rock this summer, the old Pier Shops at Caesars are a distant memory in Atlantic City, N.J. at The Playground.
Bart Blatstein, CEO of Tower Investments and developer of The Playground unveiled Thursday night that the first phase of redevelopment has been completed – an entire week before initially thought. The Playground is unlike anything else on the East Coast as a refreshing non-gambling atmosphere, a place where shopping, dining and entertainment all come together to give guests an incredible experience.
It almost has that New Orleans feel where guests can navigate around – with drink and/or food in hand – to different bars with different vibes and genre-specific bands.
Essential to Blatstein’s plan for The Playground is having live music at all of the venues on T Street. T Street is music row in Nashville, Beale Street in Memphis, and 6th Street in Austin all rolled into one street in Atlantic City at The Playground and celebrates diversity in entertainment. Blatstein’s partner in the project, world-renowned architect Paul Steelman, brought that vision to life.

T Street begins with the Monkey Bar. The centrally-located, high-tech bar features over 4,000 square feet bar and lounge space with beautiful ocean views on either side. T Street Pubs include TAG, Bo’s, Purdy, 1921 and The Bluey. 39 N is an eclectic music and events space, over 13,500 square feet at the 39th latitude above the equator, which features a state-of-the-art stage, lighting and sound.
The space accommodates larger national and regional touring acts with a space able to accommodate more than 2,000 guests. Just outside of 39N will be the Riviera, a beer garden on the pier’s back deck, which opens up 4,000 square feet over the ocean. The Riviera will open July 4th weekend.
Bonfire Entertainment out of Philadelphia is one the nation’s most acclaimed entertainment companies and has booked the best acts in virtually every music and entertainment genre. Blues, country, rock and even dueling pianos can be heard in any one of the T Street pubs, while bands like George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Gin Blossoms and Badfish will rock out at 39 N.
Garces Events Down the Shore has created a menu that stands up to the best gastro pubs anywhere. There was no shortage of burger samples, poutine inspired french fries (with sausage!), mini flatbreads with shrimp, chicken and pulled pork as well as finger food like fried shrimp, popcorn and spicy peanuts.

The menu and drink offerings tie into the energy and fun of The Playground and T Street. Specialty cocktails have been created for each venue, celebrating their individual style, and each venue also had different, extensive beer lists. Drink tickets were given to guests who were able to sample some fine and delicious cocktails.
