Enjoy coasting your car along Long Beach Boulevard to Plantation Restaurant in Long Beach Island, N.J. Then enjoy your car being parked valet style as you head inside for a delightful dinner.

One of the only truly upscale options in LBI, Plantation Restaurant is open year round for lunch and dinner with a festive and fabulous happy hour. Featuring an adventuresome contemporary American menu inspired by the flavors of the islands, Chef Jeff Alberti uses nature’s finest ingredients available with creative specials. Tastefully decorated in a South Seas ambience, enjoy a delightful meal that is both relaxed yet elegant. Plantation has an energetic full service bar downstairs and the intimate Monkey Bar upstairs featuring specialty cocktails. Our private rooms upstairs are perfect for any celebration or let us cater a memorable meal.

Located in heart of the borough of Harvey Cedars technically, this bustling eatery and bar serves classic seaside fare in a sophisticated space with warm and inviting vibes. We went for dinner after checking into nearby Daddy O Hotel and getting some beach time in first. We had worked up an appetite and were incredibly thirsty too so cocktails (and mocktails) were in order.

Trying out a watermelon mocktail which tasted just like the delicious melon and the classic Plantation mojito that didn’t disappoint.
The PEI mussels were excellent in a soup-like tomato broth that we could have easily slurped up like a child. The garlic bread was a fantastic touch and we wanted more!
The spicy tuna “nachos” on taro chips with avocado was one of my favorite treats at Plantation Restaurant.
Because our guest was sensitive to fried food, we kept it very light and fresh. These chilled Gulf shrimp were amazing at Plantation Restaurant.
Crab cakes with tiny crispy fries usually comes in three for an entree but we did a mini version of two at Plantation Restaurant and loved them.
The special mango shrimp were so sweet and succulent, I could have eaten a whole plate full at Plantation Restaurant.
For the main course, I went with the halibut with kale dumplings at Plantation Restaurant. The fish was flaky and light like a marshmallow while the kale dumplings were so light and crispy with sweet kale inside. It was perfection on a plate.
My guest went with the seared tuna with mango salsa and friend jasmine rice at Plantation Restaurant. The fish was amazing with the green onion soy vinaigrette sauce while the rice cake was a greasy pocket of sweet rice.
My guest switched it up with the sweet Circa 1916 with Espolon Reposado, St. Germain Elderflower, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Fruitlab Hibiscus, muddled rosemary and orange while I enjoyed some decaf coffee.
For dessert, we were urged to try the pecan bread pudding and boy were we glad we tried it! It was so good it didn’t even need the ice cream on the side. If you’re gonna carb it up, this is how to do it right at Plantation Restaurant.
The Tahitian creme brulee with raspberry sorbet was a nice juxtaposition of flavors – tart and sweet sorbet with a creamy side.
Curiously, this fishbowl normally with booze in it has appeared on the menu this year at Plantation Restaurant. We’ll see how that turns out!
