Located at the heart of the vibrant Santana Row urban oasis, yet somehow quiet and isolated from the hustle and bustle of San Jose and Silicon Valley, this European-inspired neighborhood is home to a dynamic mix of upscale shopping, dining and entertainment, featuring more than 70 shops, 20 restaurants and a six-screen movie theatre. The Winchester Mystery House is a mansion in San Jose, California, which was once the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of gun magnate William Wirt Winchester.
People rent out the outdoor space for wine tastings and indoor for high tea or events as well.
Today you can tour through 110 of the 160 rooms of Sarah’s stately mansion, known around the world as the Winchester Mystery House. She kept adding on rooms with steps and doors to nowhere.
From the top of the Winchester Mystery House with views for days! We wanted to do the explore more tour however got there too late to begin (tour tickets for that end at 3:30 p.m.) however the whirlwind 24 hours in San Jose was lovely – and educational!
