On opening night of Atlantic City’s newest nightclub WAV, Explore NJ traveled to Caesars Atlantic City to witness the excitement.
Explore NJ went to explore the live music and event venue in partnership with Insomniac, the producer behind Electric Daisy Carnival. The venue’s opening weekend, Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2, treated fans to heavy-hitting performances by dubstep phenomenon Skrillex and the eccentric, fan favorite Tommy Trash, respectively.
But first, upon entering the lobby, this reporter and a friend saw the newest restaurant in the casino hotel, the Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill. Since, the nightclub didn’t open ’til 10 p.m., we decided to see what all the commotion was about this new restaurant. Getting seated was easy since we sat along a railing just inside the restaurant. Traffic along the outside moved as we ordered. This old guy always enjoys short ribs and the entree intrigued us both.
The short ribs came atop a creamy couscous and covered in exotic pearl onions, each with a taste of their own, and carrots. The short ribs cut easily, breaking apart as any good short rib does. The short rib entree cost $35 but was well worth the price as a portion was taken home for a meal the next night. Prior to the short ribs, we shared a Caesars Salad, wedges of Romaine in a delightful dressing. The cost: $16. Alongside the dish were two anchovies in a small bowl. My friend ordered a lobster mac and cheese dish but it really wasn’t needed. The cost: $25. For dessert we shared a plum cheesecake, a delicious ending to a wonderful meal. The cost of the dessert was $11. Oh, yeah! The restaurant pays for parking if your dinner cost over $75. So it was a bargain there, too.
We hit the WAV, Atlantic City’s newest nightclub, live music and event venue at 10 p. m. The hostess was strict about letting invited guests into WAV, a frustrating wait for a guy who wanted to review the nightclub. WAV announced their partnership with Insomniac, the producer behind Electric Daisy Carnival.
Located on Playground Pier, WAV is the only nightclub in the U.S. that resides directly over the Atlantic Ocean and the ultimate destination for East Coast dance fans to experience unforgettable performances in an incredible atmosphere. Each Saturday and Sunday, WAV hosts shows curated specially by Insomniac.
“This new partnership with WAV Entertainment and Insomniac unleashes unlimited possibilities of what we can do with Electronic Dance Music in Atlantic City,” WAV Entertainment CEO Brian Nagele told Explore NJ.
The 20,000 square-foot space features a Main Club, Mezzanine level and outdoor terrace in addition to four easy access bars, 60-foot high ceilings, 8,000 square-feet of LED screens and finally, a whopping 200,000-watt sound system. This past New Year’s Eve, WAV welcomed an amazing 3,500 guests through its doors in its premier event, Uncorked – a testament to future nights to come. WAV joins Insomniac’s repertoire of nightclub partnerships, including Exchange LA and Create Nightclub, as its first venue situated on the East Coast.
