Famed nightlife innovator Ivan Kane is bringing burlesque back to Atlantic City! Kane launched his newest burlesque show at Ivan Kane’s Kiss Kiss Nightclub inside The Quarter at Tropicana boardwalk casino, yet again affirming Tropicana’s place as Atlantic City’s premiere nightlife destination. Burlesque lessons will be taught by the award-winning Kiss Kiss dancers every Saturday afternoon. “Every night at Kiss Kiss people walk up to me and ask when I’m going to do my burlesque show again. The event was not just a premier party. It was a night to celebrate dance, music and three important people who have supported Ballet X throughout the years. It was a night to honor Damian Wetzel and Janet and Jim Averill. Is it your childhood home, your current home or maybe a place you visited once that felt like the home you never had? Maybe it’s a mix of a lot of feelings and images. Home is not the same for everyone. The world premiere of Home/S. 9th St. took place at FringeArts right near Penn’s Landing with shows on Nov. 19th, 20th and 21st. Everyone Learned to Shimmy and Shake at the Comcast Center’s Salsa Under the Sun Event
By Jill Beckel Everyone got out their dancing shoes for Salsa Under the Sun on the Square at the Comcast Center plaza. Participants took part in an hour-long intro to Latin dance class where they were taught the Merengue, Salsa, Samba and more! The temperature reached into the 90’s, but that didn’t stop anyone from trying out some new moves. Colleen Cheong led the class. She is an instructor, choreographer and performer for Society Hill Dance Academy. With locations in Manayunk and Center City, Society Hill Dance Academy specializes in ballroom, Latin and social dancing. Everyone partnered up and then rotated partners throughout the class.
