Story, photos by Jennifer Ferrell In the spring of 2007, Friday night ping pong parties in a Tribeca loft hosted by Jonathan Bricklin and Franck Raharinosy, known as “naked ping-pong”, quickly grew from a few friends to a few hundred. Artists, models, bankers, hipsters and celebrities mingled to create quite a SPiN. Story, photos by Jill Beckel Rides, games, food and fun were abundant at the 39th Annual Flyers Wives Carnival which took place on Sunday, March 13th at the Wells Fargo Center. Among the newly-added attractions were a center-ice carousel, carnival games, and the opportunity to purchase player autographs prior to the carnival. This annual event welcomed thousands of Flyers fans to mingle with players and enjoy a family-friendly afternoon all while supporting a great cause (local charities). To the delight of both young and old, last year’s six-story-high Ferris wheel also returned to this year’s carnival. Female cyclists put the pedal to the metal at the annual Manayunk Bike Race
By Jill Beckel For the first time in the event’s 32-year-history, the women’s UCI Road World Cup headlined The Philadelphia International Cycling Classic races in Philly on Sunday, June 7. If you’re from the ‘Yunk, you know that this is one of the biggest events of the year. The cyclists train all year for this big event and it’s known throughout Philly and across the nation. The men’s UCI America Tour/USA Cycling NRC race began at 8 a.m. and the women’s World Cup at noon.
