Another Nor’easter Didn’t Stop People from Attending the 3rd Annual Philadelphia Restaurant Festival

But that didn’t stop Philadelphians from attending the 3rd Annual Philadelphia Restaurant Festival which was held at the beautiful Crystal Tea Room at the Wanamaker Building. This year’s Philadelphia Restaurant Festival did not disappoint with over 60 restaurants, wineries and distilleries participating. Attendees traveled throughout the main room and the Viennesse Room of the Crystal Tea Room, stopping to sample anything that piqued their fancy. With Burgers, Wings AND Tacos, No One Left Hungry at This Year’s Burger Brawl
Photos, story by Jill Beckel On a hot and humid Sunday, the 7th Annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl took over the parking lot of Xfinity Live. Over 60 local Philly area restaurants competed for the title of best burger, best taco and (for the first time ever), best chicken wing! This year, Explore Philly was excited to be a part of the judging panel! When it comes to food, we are always more than eager to help out. We got to judge the first burger round. Each burger sample was judged on its taste, look, bun, meat and originality. All restaurants were kept anonymous so that the burger tasting would be fair.…

I, the casual omnivore on the prowl, walked into 2016’s Philadelphia Restaurant Festival with anxious anticipation, looking forward to all of the delights that would dance upon my tongue that evening. In front of the bones of one the late Cretaceous period’s biggest meat eaters was Modelo serving up some of its best brews; a dark beer, a light beer, and a beer infused with tomato.
