After a long day (or several days) spent in the kitchen preparing for the big meal on Thanksgiving, the last thing you wanna do the day (or weekend) after is cook.
Luckily, our friends over at Di Bruno Bros. always have you covered, offering prepared meals, sandwiches, cheese, meats and treats for every time of the year. And why would Black Friday and the post-Turkey weekend be any different? So when you’re shopping in Center City this weekend, we suggest you try their latest sandwich for a sophisticated taste of the season. The Di Bruno Bros. team says “from now until the end of the month, Di Bruno Bros. will serve The Leftover, a hearty sandwich of pulled turkey, Schnebelhorn cheese, stuffing, bacon-Brussels sprout slaw, maple-yam spread and cranberry relish on kale focaccia.
The Leftover is a perfect holiday lunch or dinner, and will be available at Di Bruno Bros. shops in Rittenhouse Square, The Franklin, Comcast Center and Ardmore Farmers Market, making it an ideal meal while holiday shopping – especially on Black Friday, Nov. 27.
We were lucky enough to get a chance to taste this sammy AND share our thoughts with all of you hungry readers.
Ordering the sandwich to go, we hurried home to dig in to this beauty.
The tastiness begins at the focaccia (or, as the roommate said, “Focacci-YEA!”) Kale focaccia. Something so simple is a total game-changer. The pulled turkey is definitely at peak high standards of Di Bruno Bros, but I think the other ingredients are what makes this sandwich stand out.
This is the first Thanksgiving sandwich we’ve tried with cheese, and the Schnebelhorn (a creamy yet firm cow’s milk cheese) really added a complex layer of richness. SPEAKING of layers, peep this shot:
We’re a firm believer that the sign of a great Thanksgiving sandwich is the completeness of each bite. And you’re really getting a taste of the stuffing, the bacon-Brussels sprouts, and the cranberry relish and maple-yam spread. The construction of this sandwich is impeccable.
For $10.99, you’re getting some of the highest quality ingredients in town, available at the Rittenhouse Square, Franklin, Comcast Center and Ardmore Farmers Market locations. So while you’re out shopping until you drop this weekend, stop by, grab a bite, and let one of the most perfect autumnal sandwiches fuel your day! Only available until November 30th, get it while you can!
