Meet the Inspiring Boss Babe Behind PNPK Wine Bar and Restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ

Story, videos/photos by Cassie Hepler (unless otherwise noted)

Once upon a time there was a restaurant called Grape Bistro in North Scottsdale. And most people still remember that wine bar and were sad to see it close. Fast forward to present time and Grape was revamped and renamed like a Phoenix rising through the ashes into something even better thanks to owner Kellie Pruitt.

PNPK opened in March 2018 and is named in honor of closeby Pinnacle Peak Mountain. Located on the Southeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Pinnacle Peak at 23335 N. Scottsdale Road, the space is deceptively huge – 2,600 square feet and you can bring Fido too while you chill with your wine on the 800 square foot dog friendly patio.

Dubbed a restaurant and wine bar, PNPK features craft sliders and shareable flights of elevated comfort food as well as local and regional beers, wines and cocktails with specials for a steal six days a week. Making their first donation to the Friends of Pinnacle Peak, you have to hear the inspiring story of why a woman would dedicate a whole restaurant concept to a mountain in Arizona. We caught up with owner Kellie Pruitt, who you will always find with a glass of red wine in her hand to hear her tell her tale of inspiration. She also just brought her hair from blonde to brunette and they say about when a woman changes her hair, she’s about to change her life!

Now that you’ve met this amazing woman, let’s take a look inside PNPK and see what all it has to offer!

You’ll know you found PNPK by the funny dog sign outside the door.
Located next to Sprouts Market in the shopping plaza, it looks small from the outside.
But once you open that door, it’s an oasis of chill space that is child friendly too.
A smiling host or hostess will greet you when you walk in to see where you want to relax at PNPK.
The first thing you will notice is the large, long table perfect for parties and business meetings at PNPK… and those lights are super Instagram worthy.
Booths flank the large table in the middle for a more intimate experience at PNPK.
Perhaps one of our favorite features is the wine walls at PNPK and yes, they are real bottles.
These lights are super cool and seem to glow brighter with the more wine you have at PNPK.
This colorful wine wall leads into the kitchen at PNPK.
One of the many amazing deals PNPK offers is bruschetta board & a bottle Tuesdays for $20 where you can pick one of these bottles and one of the boards. The meat and cheese plate is probably our favorite board but we won’t say no to the elevated eggs or tasty toast either!
But don’t forget, PNPK also slings local beer too! Here are a medley of rotating taps by the bar.
Just like the wine flights offered, there are beer flights as well at PNPK. And you can always belly up to the bar like the customers in the background as well!
Did we mention we loved those lights sparkling in our wine glass at PNPK Pinnacle Peak?
You will most likely end up at the French inspired metal wall as well at PNPK.
Some of Kellie’s closest friends are always stopping by to support her vision at PNPK. This fun family enjoys the outside space the most.
Let’s not forget the outside patio where magical sunsets happen daily at PNPK. Let’s also not forget how surprisingly good Rodney Strong wine is!

Pretty much every shot you take at sunset is beautiful on the patio at PNPK.
There are magical cactus to work with nearby too at PNPK like this picture perfect Pine Ridge.
Did we mention outstanding sunsets on the patio at PNPK enough yet?
This is the Tickle Me PNPK Punch and $1 from each sale of this sparkling wine-infused drink is donated to the Friends of Pinnacle Peak to help maintain the nearby Pinnacle Peak Mountain.
The mafia seat in the patio where you can see everything and everyone if people watching is fun for you at PNPK.
Dogs are always welcome at PNPK’s patio.
You will also find a side of whimsy at PNPK, which we adore.

With special deals 7 days a week with all day happy hours, it’s no wonder PNPK is getting a great buzz. Some steals include the Sunday Flight Club: Half off of any wine flight, each of which consists of four pours of red, white, rosé or bubbly wines per guest all day! Not Just Another Manic Monday has happy hour pricing offered all day, Board and Bottle $20 Tuesday is guest’s choice of chef’s special charcuterie board, devilish egg flight (choice of six) or bruschetta flight (choice of three) and select bottles of red or white wine for $20 (wine selections subject to change weekly) and Food Flight Friday: Two sliders and guest’s choice of fries or tater tots from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for just $10.
