You’ve heard of glimmers by now I hope? If not, they are those giddy moments in life that give you joy and happiness. Well, there’s also what I call bread crumbs from the universe that make sure you’re on the right path. And I followed mine all the way to Prescott, Arizona because of Red, White and Brew restaurant! They reached out via email with a holiday special and I noticed there was a location in Mesa, Arizona and one in downtown Prescott. I had been trying to plan a Northern Arizona snow angle story for months but the weather was not cooperating until randomly it did – twice!
I also asked where to stay and they said we love Prescott Pines Inn so I reached out via email and here we are, playing in the snow and eating my face off in the middle of a snow storm. Honestly, I can see why it’s easy to pack on the pounds in the cold weather as all I wanted to do was be in a warm cocoon and enjoy delicious flavors. Their motto is bold American dining in downtown Prescott and I have to say, they nailed it. Overlooking Courthouse Square, RWB features big plates, huge portions, happy hour from Tuesday to Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a dog-friendly patio, and a warm, relaxed environment where guests become family and make fast friends.
Locally owned with a scratch kitchen, curated selection of red wine, white wine, and local beer that promotes local places that produces happy faces. Why? Because they use the highest quality ingredients in their medley of pastas, seafood, meats, poultry and more made fresh in the kitchen. I’m talking even down to the spinach that actually tasted like it and broccoli that was steamed with just a pinch of salt perfection! Okay, enough yapping let’s get to the eating portion of things below.
I almost considered walking to Red White & Brew Prescott however thought better of it with all my gear and another snow storm on the way! You can see the snowy remnants from the day before.The patio is surely poppin’ on a cool summer day at Red White & Brew Prescott.Located right downtown, you can walkabout and easily explore from Red White & Brew Prescott. Right across the street is Hassayampa Inn, where I stayed overnight once with my elderly cat… never again as climbed my head all night and spent hours in her litter box. He is not on social media ya’ll, they do things differently up North!A peach and beet salad because greens are good for you and taste great if done right and this was a delight at Red White & Brew Prescott.My obsession with coconut shrimp continues and was soon satiated at Red White & Brew Prescott.The biggest, fattest scallops are bathed in a decadent sauce at Red White & Brew Prescott.I love Ahi tuna and was excited to see it on the menu and gobble it down at Red White & Brew Prescott. Remember, Arizona is not just desert kids and we have these inventions called helicopters!I switched over to something Prickly Pear because it’s kind of Arizona’s thing and found a new favorite with Stoic Cider at Red White & Brew Prescott.The first round of seafood and eat it at Red White & Brew Prescott!I saw a bacon Old Fashioned on the menu at Red White & Brew Prescott and had to try it. It was stiff!The New York strip steak with mushrooms was on the specials list so I had to get it and it was done perfectly at Red White & Brew Prescott. Kudos chef down to the tasty spinach!I am obsessed with these three things: cheese tortellini, pesto and chicken and loved this dish and it was HUGE at Red White & Brew Prescott. The tomato added a nice pop of flavor too.I don’t usually talk about sides but homemade mashed potatoes (team skins on for nutrients here) and the best broccoli I’ve had in a while at Red White & Brew Prescott.And for the vegetarians, a fat portabella mushroom sandwich with sweet potato fries at Red White & Brew Prescott. They also have eggplant parmesan too!The more meaty dinner spread at Red White & Brew Prescott. I had to move up my schedule because of the incoming snow storm number two so was trying to do dinner for lunch!This also boggled my mind – a popcorn Old Fashioned at Red White & Brew Prescott! I pictured a bunch of popcorn on top the ice but that would get soggy and gross. So buttery!The most popular desserts here include creme brulee with a perfect color and crust at Red White & Brew Prescott. No lumps!Another popular desert is the homemade carrot cake at Red White & Brew Prescott. I’m usually not a fan but it was so fresh and fluffy!I was also curious about the Lavender Flower and had a very sweet mocktail with it at Red White & Brew Prescott. I think in bubbles this would be epic, NA or not!And the grande finale, one more bacon Old Fashioned with the bacon sticking out the top at Red White & Brew Prescott. Yes I ate the bacon too!At this point the snow started falling again and it was time for me to hunker down at the hotel from Red White & Brew Prescott.
I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised how good this place was! Some folks I met the day before were like oh, it’s just okay but let me tell you it’s much better than that. I think with fresh ingredients and Chef Eli in the kitchen, it’s a great place to take leftovers home if that’s your jam.
