Get all the Good Vibes at Sky Rock Sedona in Arizona

Story, photos, video by Cassie Hepler

Sky Rock Sedona got a magical makeover! With 360-degree views of Sedona’s Red Rocks including Snoopy Rock, Thunder Mountain, and Coffee Pot Rock, no other boutique hotel in the area can compare. After a full remodel in March 2024, this rad space offers those iconic Red Rocks views in every direction, 109 modern rooms and suites with comfortable beds, outdoor pool, hot tub, free shuttle, musicians on the weekends and all the energy work you ever wanted each evening – all without leaving the property. There’s even a hiking path across the street from Sky Rock Sedona if you want to get out there and ground your feet into that red sand! Now part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, it meets all the comforts you can come to expect with perks too. The hotel also boasts Vortex Hunters, energy experts in the region who offer intuitive service and ideas when it comes to all things Sedona. They can help create curate experiences for guests centered around everything Sedona has to offer from adventure to transformation to relaxation. If you want a really good deal, book your stay during slow season before prices go up and things get crazy crowded in fall and winter!

I arrived somewhat early for checkin and anxious to ground down into those red rocks as I had been in Philadelphia for the whole month of July and that gritty city living really takes a toll on your soul. So when I walked into the lobby with a whole wall of sparkling amethyst, I knew I was in the right place. My soul is happy and vibrant whenever I am in this magical vortex space of Sedona and all felt right again. After exploring the property, I settled in for a cat nap as my spirit needed to rest energetically again. The key to Sedona is go with the flow… and if it’s not flowing it’s not going and that’s okay too! Ironically even just writing this story is making me want another nap… is Sedona calling me again already?! Maybe so… read on.

A Sky Rock Sedona shuttle is available for guests within a 5 mile radius which helps cut down on traffic at Sky Rock Sedona.
The huge wooden doors are a nod to Southwestern style at Sky Rock Sedona. Every morning is yoga and meditation which I love! We all need more of that energy in our busy lives.
The first thing I noticed upon stepping inside, the amethyst rock wall at Sky Rock Sedona.
This is giving me ideas for the end of my hallway at Sky Rock Sedona! But how do they stay up?
The lobby when I first walked in at Sky Rock Sedona.
The gong which I missed the night ceremony a couple times at Sky Rock Sedona. Usually held each night, something was amiss that weekend.
This is what really makes this place special at Sky Rock Sedona on the lobby patio.
And to the right, it keeps going in levels as this is the top level at Sky Rock Sedona.
The WooWoo bar (haha funny name) at Sky Rock Sedona will get you good. I warned you!
Each morning there is coffee, fruit and a light breakfast menu available at Sky Rock Sedona. A lot of people were working from hotel as was I at points.
Checking into my room, I was right beside the lobby at Sky Rock Sedona and greeted with the best swag including crystals and sage!
With two queen beds, I usually use one for luggage and gear at Sky Rock Sedona.

But most importantly, the views right outside my door at Sky Rock Sedona.

I opted out of the airport sunset experience to attend this which was calling me at Sky Rock Sedona.
Local art work available in the lobby at Sky Rock Sedona.
Chef Jacob Grieves made me fresh jalapeno guacamole for an afternoon working snack at Sky Rock Sedona.
It was excellent and somehow stayed fresh all night long at Sky Rock Sedona.
It was very difficult to work with these views out the window at Sky Rock Sedona.
For dinner, I had a pulled pork BBQ sandwich with side of chips at Sky Rock Sedona. They have a limited but tasty menu!
Soon it was time to explore the pool area which is railroad style at Sky Rock Sedona with a deep swimming pool at the end.
A hot tub in the middle at Sky Rock Sedona.
And little lounge area at the beginning at Sky Rock Sedona.
The adjacent Tranquility Room is where most classes are held at Sky Rock Sedona.
I wasn’t quite sure what we were signed up for at Sky Rock Sedona but was all in!
Abundance mentor Cynthia Clark was our teacher for this class of palmistry at Sky Rock Sedona.
After explaining some history of palm reading, she measured our hands at Sky Rock Sedona. Depending on your hand structure, you were assigned an earth element.

An example of a water hand (which was me) at Sky Rock Sedona. This makes sense as I am obsessed with swimming, beaches and oceans.

We then talked about how every line has meaning and can shift with time at Sky Rock Sedona.
She then used different musical tuning forks for each element to shift our vibration ready for new changes at Sky Rock Sedona. Walking back to my room, my leg spasmed and I’ve never experienced that before!
After my leg spazzed out, I then meandered over to the lobby following the music at Sky Rock Sedona.
I was really enjoying the fire pit and cooler nights at Sky Rock Sedona. Apparently they have s’mores too which I learned after I left!
And the musical sounds of this lovely musician Silvia Grape at Sky Rock Sedona. Listen to her ethereal voice below! She is a staple at many of the hot spots in Sedona.

I then fell asleep very easily that night and was woke up by someone else singing in the morning. I’m not sure who is was but they also had a lovely voice and much better way to wake than my cell phone alarm! I was jazzed to do some yoga and meditation that morning which is a great way to start the day. But first I zombied into the lobby, grabbed the complimentary coffee, ate a banana and stumbled over to the area across from the lobby to the right. Upon arrival, I met guide Scott Soller who was full of funny, snarky spiritual sayings and puns. Before you know it, I made three new friends, found my zen, was a little wobbly with my airplane but it’s a good reminder to return to a consistent practice as I was buzzing afterwards. Just one of the many all-inclusive perks at Sky Rock Sedona! With my body fired and mind fired up, I was ready for breakfast.

The Sky Rock breakfast is what we call an American breakfast. Filling, full of protein and fats!

After meeting my new friend Cynthia Clark the night before, she invited me over to her beautiful Sedona house in the red rocks and gave me a tour with Kona, her fluffy little dog companion. Palmistry is the art of reading hands and so much energy is inside her beautiful home, full of crystals, singing bowls, good vibes and outstanding views. She took ink prints of both my palms so we can talk about my destiny more next visit for sure! Learn more about her at cynthiaclark.simplero.com.

Welcome to Cynthia Clark’s beautiful home in Sedona, Arizona.

The view from her porch is stunning! That’s Coffee Pot rock.

Imagine laying on this device, full of crystals rolling down your back.
The sweetest little fur face with a white mohawk!
Using quartz energy to shift your vibration, this can be done remotely.
Soon it was time to roll my hands with ink, this is Cynthia’s way of archiving clients.
My palms which I also have a record of now as well. Curious to see what she reads next visit!
Back to Sky Rock Sedona right after and found this entrance at the other end of the road. The space is massive!
I then spent a couple hours with Pet Psychic Maia Kincaid who told me all about Carmella, my 20 year old Sealpoint Ragdoll cat.

Have you heard of a pet psychic? Animal Communicator Maia Kincaid told me all about Carmella the cat without her even being by my side in Sedona. Above is just a small snippet of all the information she told me but boy oh boy, was she spot on! Since 1997, Maia Kincaid has been a pioneer in the field of telepathic animal and nature communication. She trains animals, has an Animal Communication School where she can teach others how to become Animal And Nature Communicators Worldwide. Learn more about her at animalcommunicationworld.com.

She has written many books which you can browse on her website and is very intuitive. I was skeptical about not having my cat there (and Sky Rock Sedona is both cat and dog friendly btw) but she soon was having me in tears about my old gal! Maia said she would return to me shortly after her passing in a kitten form and I would know it was her by laying on my chest. Her voice was so soft and kind, full of loving energy that we went to a private room for this conversation as I didn’t want to miss a beat. Watch the above video from our YouTube channel to hear more!

At this point, it was time to get ready for dinner as Sedona Restaurant Week returned August 24-31, 2024. Apparently it was a battle for a while among the residents and mayor but ultimately they decided to offer it again. I think that was a good move, especially during slow season to motivate Arizonians to flee up North more often. But even all through dinner after taking the shuttle down, I was anxious to get back to home base and continue exploring energy work. It certainly had a pull on me!

Ready for more good vibes, I headed back to the Tranquility Room at Sedona Sky Rock.
Walking into a room full of sounds at Sky Rock Sedona with Grateful Desert Sound.

Ironically, these rad folks Capri Pinto and Steve Vintage lived in South Philly and had a shop named Vintage Clothing Company until 2003 when they moved to Sedona. It’s a small world indeed! What I really loved about staying at Sky Rock Sedona is these experiences which you normally have to search out and book around town, are literally right on property almost every night of the week. You can get your Woo Woo on at any time! This was a lovely experience in the Tranquility Room where most of the action happens. Learn more about this funky couple at gratefuldesertsound.com.

The duo making magical music at the end of the session at Sky Rock Sedona.
When I walked out, the sun was setting and the WooWoo bar was calling me at Sky Rock Sedona.

You gotta swing by the WooWoo bar even if you’re not staying at Sky Rock Sedona! Every Thursday through Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m., there is live music with local Sedona artists, wicked good drinks by Chuckie and a light food menu available. Get the fresh jalapeño guacamole from Chef Jacob if you can! Sit back and relax and enjoy those epic views as the sun sets, the night cools down and the fire pits are set ablaze among the shining light of the moon. Low key but epic vibes all around!

Wishing I was staying another night… or week.. or month at Sky Rock Sedona to attend all the things!
Into the sounds of Michael Kollwitz playing the rare solo chapman stick at Sky Rock Sedona.

Lead bartender Chuckie McIntyre and I became fast friends and he started leading me through a cocktail tasting at the WooWoo Bar at Sky Rock Sedona. This is a diamond ice maker that he loved and the Rock’s tequila!
Starting out with a Mezcal Moonrise with blood orange was a tasty treat at the WooWoo Bar at Sky Rock Sedona.
He then made a cocktail with the Rock’s tequila with the diamond rock in it at the WooWoo bar at Sky Rock Sedona.
And Chuckie made the best old fashioned around at WooWoo Bar at Sky Rock Sedona. I may have had two!

What happened after that is quite a blur honestly! I made fast friends with all of Chuckie’s friends and we all loaded up to head down to Mooney’s Irish Pub. Whatever you do, DO NOT mix Guinness with the above cocktails unless you want the worst hangover of your life. There was a pink haired gal pal, dancing, a fluffy dog named Cheech and more shenanigans. But that hangover… eeeshhh! You cannot escape it, even in Sedona. I’m pretty sure my soul and spirit were wilin’ out because of all the good energy slinging at me in every direction. So needless to say, that morning was rough.

Breakfast of cocktail champions here, some healthy but always chocolate at Guinness. The gal working was totally taking care of me!

I then went back to the room to lay down for a bit while my head equalized itself. Soon I found myself drawn to the pool and hot tub, trying to sweat it all out and also relax before driving home with late checkout which is available to all Marriott Bonvoy members. It was around 2 p.m. when I started packing up the car and realized I did not do the short hike across the street. With the red rocks giving me life again, I decided it was worth it but also because we had a “cool” day of 90 degrees and cloud coverage. Don’t be a hero hiking out there in 100+ weather ya’ll!

Onto the path I went across from Sky Rock Sedona.
Even more stunning with the clouds at Sky Rock Sedona.
Pleasantly surprised by this rock heart at Sky Rock Sedona.
Through some trees and bushes at Sky Rock Sedona.
Onto the church grounds where it loops around at Sky Rock Sedona.
And ending with Mary on the path across from Sky Rock Sedona.
Heading back to Sky Rock Sedona to drive off back to Phoenix!

Lots of love to Sedona, Arizona! It was hard to peel myself away from that vortex energy as usual and I do forsee moving there someday when I’m in my book writing era. From the wonderfully kind people I met at Sky Rock Sedona to the super comfy dead to the world bed, all was well in my world for 72 hours straight. Some might even say life changing! I look forward to returning and exploring some more, making even more new friends and soaking up those Red Rocks when the weather cools down. If you’re looking for somewhere to ground down and enjoy all the amazing energy, this is your new favorite place!
