I’ve been modeling professionally since college at Penn State University as a side hustle while I earned that Communications degree. And let’s face it, models were the original influencers but, like professional. After graduating and delving into the world of journalism fully in Philadelphia, I wrote a column at The Times Herald. At that point it was taboo to apparently model and have a brain so I was called into the office for questions about my modeling. My response was, “And this is a problem how…?” They had no response and released me back into the wild newsroom to ponder that interaction for years. Even the glass ceiling of men at the top couldn’t deny having some modeling/columnist clout would only help the newspapers dwindling numbers among youth. The irony is that years later writing aka blogging and modeling merged into the world of content creation. And here we are… you reading a blog-azine about the best photo spots in Las Vegas, Nevada. Full circle moment!

Will I ever stop modeling? Probably never. “What are the photos for?” is always the question. Why do they have to be “for” anything? Can’t they just be for the love of the art, using your body as a way to express it the way dancers do? I hope when I’m all silver and sassy, I’ll still be wearing couture and posing in beautiful destinations. The thing about art and fashion is it is always timeless… unlike the latest influencer trend of making just turned 18-year-old OnlyFans famous because they are now legal… Gross by the way! The obsession with youth and injecting your face with filler is just… odd and giving pedo vibes. I’m not against a once or twice a year Botox jab for the frown lines but damn, it’s totally Idiocracy speaking of the early 2000s. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be 20-something again, the grind never stopped and it was exhausting. I can relax more and enjoy some slow travel vibes nowadays which brings me to this shoot.

I had scored a week-long weird timeshare deal somewhere along the way of travel life and asked my favorite California photographer and friend, Brian Delfin, if he would like to join me for a week at The Berkley in South Vegas. Since I moved to Arizona, we have been shooting like mad all over the place and I always come up with so many ideas – and was even inspired to sew a new dress! I was still healing from the summer from hell and he was graciously driving Miss Cassie around to snag these shots. This is a total labor of love, some days included dead to the world naps afterwards. But I hope you can steal these ideas and make your own memories no matter what age you are! Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

Come as early as possible or in the dead of night to not wait in line! We lucked out with a rare parking space and were able to bang out these epic photos in about a minute, see video above and pics below for pose ideas. There are people you can pay to take your pics when you arrive or have your phone or professional camera ready to go. I just put my tripod in place and we were set for the shoot. It’s Instagram vs. reality in Vegas in the above video! We waited in the scorching sun in the late morning in line with everyone else to grab our iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign moment with Brian and his trusty Nikon. Nothing like having a whole family photo bomb your photoshoot and also having hundreds of people sweating in line staring at you! But we got it done pinup style wearing a swim dress.

Which photo is your favorite? We had exactly one minute to rock this pinup style photoshoot to keep the line happily moving at the swamped Welcome to Las Vegas Sign spot. And I think we slayed this modeling photoshoot! That was the theme of the week in Las Vegas, Nevada – work fast but efficiently all over the area.

Las Vegas Strip Photo Spots

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

While you’re running all around the strip, make a quick drive by for a photoshoot on the fountains in front of The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Seriously some of the nicest people are in Las Vegas as two ladies appeared out of nowhere and helped me put on my shimmery silver heel after I took them off to climb up the fountain. Anyway, we were running all over in sneakers… doing stealth outfit changes and adding heels as needed. Rinse and repeat until we finally finished shooting and legit passed out for dead to the world naps after lunch! Don’t believe the mirage of the Vegas bridge walks… everything is further than it appears and takes at least an hour total walking time. Always pack sneakers!

Sassy Cassie strikes again at Caesars in Vegas! This photoshoot with had a very cheeky vibe to it – pun intended. We kept shooting and noticing all sorts of… signs everywhere haha! See if you can spot what I’m talking about. If you can’t make it to Italy in this economy, might as well make it to Las Vegas, Nevada. And with the current discounts and deals luring travelers to town, it’s a no brainer to go during this economic recession. This photoshoot was right outside The Forum Shops where the walkway is giving Trevi Fountain vibes like in Rome, Italy while inside is the famous Fountain of the Gods, the iconic water feature inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, inspired by Roman mythology and featuring statues of gods like Neptune and a fake, glowing skyline. Wynn Las Vegas

The Wynn Las Vegas atrium is a perfect backdrop for photos! This was our last photoshoot of the day and the most whimsical one at that as the sunlight pouring through the ceiling overhead made for the most dramatic photography. After we were done, a bunch of ladies were following my posing ideas perfectly and Brian was lured in to capture some shots for a lucky couple. It’s not as large as the Bellagio display but also not as insanely crowded and right next to the casino and restrooms for easy changing access. No, I don’t usually go around Vegas in a princess dress and tiara! I don’t always wear a puffy sleeve pink princess dress by Express and a tiara but when I do, it’s for photoshoot fun at the Wynn. There’s always a free flower display to enjoy for everyone that comes to Las Vegas, Nevada. We even started a trend of standing on the yellow flower for pics as a couple requested Brian take a photo of them… or maybe I suggested haha. Good times in Sin City where anything goes!

The Venetian Las Vegas

If you can’t make it to Venice, Italy, you might as well play pretend at The Venetian Las Vegas. With an outside space sure to stun and even gondola rides in blue water, it’s like a slice of Venezia right in the desert. The Italian style architecture makes for perfect stylized photos as well. It’s not exactly like being in the city floating on water as I’ve been there but a close second. We probably did our fastest shooting here, waiting for some perfect moments but also just going with the flow of whatever was happening around us. And a silky slip dress from Wrap Up by Valerie Perez is perfect for a romantic night in Venice or The Venetian Las Vegas. You can also pair it with a white T-shirt underneath for a daytime 90s vibe in Vegas Venezia. For the record, I’m not normally a fan of bows but this dress just flows and works with the lace accents and full coverage structure.

Bellagio Hotel & Casino

The Bellagio Las Vegas lobby is its own vibe containing the world’s largest glass sculpture! The Fiori di Como created by American artist Dale Chihuly was installed in the lobby of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas in 1998. The massive installation features over 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers, weighing approximately 40,000 pounds, supported by a 10,000-pound steel armature. It covers 2,000 square feet of the ceiling, creating a vibrant, blooming glass garden. As you walk to your next spot, there are also some epic photo options in the shops leading to the gardens.

An amazing sight to see in person at the Bellagio Las Vegas! I don’t know how they stay up there so secure.

The shops at the Bellagio have a walkway where we popped out and loved the views. We had to be patient and wait for others to pass.

Soon we were heading towards the shops at the Bellagio, full of all your fashion designer favorites.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden

Fall is officially my favorite season so please keep autumn vibes until at least December! I’ve had this place on my bucket list for a long time now and even thought of giving it its own separate blog post but don’t want to break the flow we have going on here. It’s even better than you see and smells absolutely heavenly! Behold the beautiful fall bounty at Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden! The skylit Bellagio atrium in Las Vegas, Nevada features Autumn Majesty: A Glamorous Harvest which shows off vibrant, seasonal scenes composed of plants, flowers and trees. Running usually until early November, it smells so fresh in the morning as they update new flowers and plants so make sure you get there super early while everyone is still sleeping! Each season, the amazingly talented horticulture and engineering teams transform the 14,000-square-foot Botanical Gardens into a showcase of inspiring sights, sounds, scents and colors. When the seasons change so do the displays each Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter are all featured along with a special display for Lunar New Year. The talented conservatory team changes out the design and also replants and repurposes as much of the living plant material as possible, further celebrating Mother Nature with a commitment to sustainability. This breathtaking installation celebrates the season’s abundance through whimsical design, vibrant botanicals, and immersive detail. Wander through this enchanting realm and discover Queen Lilybrook, the regal orange-and-black frog perched upon her throne, surrounded by a vibrant cascade of pumpkins, gourds, and glowing foliage. Sweeping LED displays bring the scene to life in vivid color and motion, creating a multi-sensory feast where elegance, fantasy, and harvest splendor unite.

Fremont Street Photo Spots

Glittering in gold in Vegas! What can I say? I like shiny things. Doing my best Elvis impersonation in Las Vegas, Nevada! The fun fact about Fremont Street is anything goes and we were certainly making curious waves with Photos by Delfin running around the area for this photoshoot. Seriously goofing in Las Vegas and Fremont Street was a hair raising experience as the energy there is wild. We went right before sunset to grab some of those best glowy sunlight modeling photos with Brian and had to catch some videos of the weird I am in my natural habitat. It’s almost peak season in Vegas as temps continue to drop even though tourism rates have also dropped. We’ll see how those promos work out! Honestly, just cut the resort and parking fees. It’s obnoxious and giving nickel and diming vibes. If you need a place to park, there’s a public lot one block away overlooking murals you can’t miss that is cheap AF. The best part about Vegas? I can be my wild and free self and people are legit loving it and clapping for it. Viva Las Vegas!

Cat Costume Photo Spots

Here’s a travel game for you! Dress in a fun outfit like this cat costume with Dolls Kill dress then run around Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Nevada looking for the perfect backdrops for a photoshoot. They said I would get more conservative as I got older but alas, I seem to be getting even weirder and witchier. C’est la vie! Cheeky Cassie cat photos were tons of fun to create.

Dolls Kill is coming to Las Vegas, Nevada! This alternative fashion brand made for misfits, Dolls Kill is an online boutique featuring a rebellious spirit and attitude, mixed with a bit of punk rock, goth, glam and festival fashion. And we just learned they’re coming to Vegas after doing our photoshoot for this fun, stretchy little dress which needed some cat ears! The new funky fun 90s fashion store will be live at Area 15, near the new horror haunted house all year round Universal Horror Unleashed. Purchase this dress and more fabulous fashions online with Dolls Kill. They just launched a Type O Negative collection and my goth gal is dying with joy on the inside.

We found this sign and I was laughing so we had to shoot it in Dolls Kill dress. It’s a rad music venue right off Fremont Street.

Fremont East District Sign

If your Vegas vibe Fremont Street, the Strip or anywhere off the Strip? We caught the last bit of the sunset as Fremont Street started to get crowded and hightailed it out of there. It certainly makes you crave a beer or maybe that’s just me! Lots of encouragement about wearing a disco ball dress which glowed perfectly in the twinkling Las Vegas lights. You can’t miss this spot, Fremont East District Sign is right before the streets end and the walking portion of Fremont Street begins. You can see in the photos where they added cement poles to keep cars from crashing into pedestrians in the photos below.

Seven Magic Mountains

Seven is my lucky number! Visiting Seven Magic Mountains has been on my bucket list for a while so when I mentioned it to Brian, it was a must do photoshoot adventure day in the desert. For some reason, I thought it was far away but literally barely a detour driving from Phoenix to Vegas. Enjoy some behind the scenes of the photoshoot in the video below.

The 7 Magic Mountains is an art installation by internationally renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone right outside of Las Vegas, Nevada! Comprised of seven towers of colorful, huge stacked boulders standing more than 30 feet high, Seven Magic Mountains is situated within the Ivanpah Valley just south of Vegas. This exhibit is always open and no reservations are necessary. Barriers once around the artwork have been removed, and the public is welcome to visit the art and to take as many pictures as they want, but to leave no trace behind. It is a large-scale site-specific public art installation located near Jean Dry Lake and Interstate 15, approximately 10 miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada. Comprised of seven towers of colorful, stacked boulders it sits adjacent to Sheep Mountain and the McCullough, Bird Spring, and Goodsprings ranges of mountains. A creative expression of human presence in the desert, this impressive art punctuates the Mojave with a poetic burst of form and color. Produced by the Nevada Museum of Art and Art Production Fund, the exhibition opened May 11, 2016 and was originally scheduled to be on display for two years. Due to the incredible success, artist Ugo Rondinone expressed a strong desire to explore ways to keep the artwork on view at its current site. Producers continue to work on an extension plan that would enable Seven Magic Mountains to remain on view for several years into the future.

We arrived right before a huge bus load of tourists at Seven Magic Mountains. There were people everywhere as you can see in the video above however with the power of Lightroom and Photoshop, we were the only ones visable.

Once people caught on this was a great photo spot, we had to move to another one at Seven Magic Mountains. We do that often!

There’s amazing views in every direction but we found these two included all the boulders at Seven Magic Mountains. Check out my Instagram to see more vertical photos however on Explore, horizontal photos reign supreme – as they should!

Red Rocks near Las Vegas

Valley of Fire State Park

I sewed another dress for this photoshoot with Photos by Delfin! I found a huge spool of this sheer black with silver stripes material at a thrift store and stashed it in the closet for future use. I work best under pressure (must be that journalism degree and ADHD) so that week I created with my Singer sewing machine this cocoon style couture wrap dress specifically for this wild canyon in Vegas. It has three parts: the top is wrapped around me and tied in the back which did creep up occasionally, the underneath a wrap style skirt like a flower pod and then the long train that added the drama. Black and jewel tones are best on my skin (as well as autumn I recently learned) so it really pops with the red rocks. Enjoy this behind the scenes photoshoot video below.

Did you know there’s red rocks near Las Vegas, Nevada? Seven Sisters at Valley of Fire State Park is a group of seven red, tall, majestic and eroded boulders surrounded by the sandy desert. The 7 Sisters in Wild Canyon Vegas refers to a famous constellation and figures in various mythologies as well as hiking The Sisters Trail, a challenging trail into the Mt. Charleston Wilderness, located west of Las Vegas. It’s a geologic wonderland, with 2000 year old petroglyphs carved into massive red sandstone formations in the Mohave Desert. Everything was under water at one point which still boggles my mind if you visit the visitor center for some quick AC and a bathroom break. Park passes don’t work here sadly so you do have to pay the fee per car. Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering nearly 46,000 acres located 16 miles south of Overton, Nevada. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. I’m sharing all of my favorite horizontal photos from this epic photoshoot below because in the blogging world, they capture best!
