Glamping in an AirStream at The Cozy Peach at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, Arizona

The nice thing about living in Phoenix is the short drive to surrounding towns that take you to a completely different vibe in any direction. And moving to North Phoenix which for is 20 minutes directly above the city much like when I lived in the Manayunk section of Philly ironically, offers you all the highways only about a mile away. Learning the rhythm of any city is the key to keeping your driving sanity and it’s no different here: skip rush hour from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. So we headed down to Queen Creek, just east of Mesa, Arizona on a late weekday morning in the fall.

Celebrating more than 75 years of operation, Schnepf Farms is a fourth generation family farm and is the largest organic peach grower in Arizona. They’ve taken the farm and grown it into a very impressive family fun zone including the newly added homes for sale next door. Quite a family affair and monopoly on the Queen Creek area!  Taking advantage of the massive land they own, you can go peach picking, watch a historical re-enactment, enjoy a classic car show, antique craft fair and growing. But what really shines is their unique seasonal farm festivals including the Pumpkin & Chili Party in October, Winter Wonderland in December, Peach Blossom Festival in February, Dinner Down the Orchard in Spring, Easter Egg-citement and more in store we’re sure for the future. Of course like any farm, you can swing by and pick your fresh non-GMO veggies in the garden as well. Or stay and play on the farm while glamping like we did at The Cozy Peach.

Think of the The Cozy Peach at Schnepf Farms like luxury trailers, with more than nine beautifully restored vintage Airstream trailers. For those that like to be near nature but not exactly in the dirt camping, that’s why glamping has become so popular. You still have a tiny house to live your best life inside – with air conditioning if needed. Schnepf Farms claims to have one of the largest displays of vintage Airstreams, Spartans and Silver Streaks. Here are some highlights of what to expect below:

• Clean and comfortable trailer with your own grass yard and patio. Some are even dog friendly!
• Private fire ring (propane or real) – you can request s’mores metal sticks too!
• Plush bedding – the beds were super comfy even for a small space!
• Flat Screen TV with Netflix – our Wifi was not working at the time but we didn’t mind a digital detox!
• Kitchen stocked with plates & dinnerware – if you were to have an extended stay, much needed!
• Communal gas grill and lounge area – good for having a beer and getting to know your neighbors.
• Keurig Coffee Machines & pods – no milk or cream so plan accordingly
• Ping pong & corn hole available – games to keep the kiddos occupied!
• We peeped some bicycles nearby too – not sure if they were fit to ride or not… fluff around & find out?
• Private gate entrance to the farm next door with fields and trees surrounding you in each direction. Nothing recharges you more than Mother Earth!
