Spring Was in the Air (and the Food) at the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival Preview Party

Story, photos By Jill Beckel

The 2017 Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival Preview Party featured cuisine from Rittenhouse Row’s best restaurants, cocktails from their best bartenders, informal modeling of spring trends from Rittenhouse Row member boutiques and salons, and a silent auction with Rittenhouse Row experiences and merchandise.

Located at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, food and beverages were provided by: 24 Wood Fired Fare, a.bar, a.kitchen, Alma de Cuba, Barclay Prime, Baril, Ben & Jerry’s, Butcher and Singer, CODA, The Dandelion, D’Angelo’s, Davio’s, Devon, Di Bruno Bros., Garces Restaurants, Lacroix, Marathon Grill, Metropolitan Bakery, Mission Taqueria, Parc, Rita’s Italian Ice, Rouge, Schweid & Sons, Termini Bros. Bakery, Verts, Bar Volver, Wrap Shack, XIX and more! Waiters walked around all night offering beer provided by Peroni as well.

Everything we tried was tasty and fresh. The stand-outs for us included penne a la vodka from D’Angelo’s that was hands down, the best we’ve ever had, the cocktails at Butcher and Singer and Suga, and the cannoli from Termini Bros. Bakery.

All proceeds from the event went to benefit Rittenhouse Row, a non-profit organization devoted to promoting the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. “Representing more than 200 businesses, Rittenhouse Row serves as the voice of the Rittenhouse Square commercial district. Our geography extends from City Hall to the Parkway from the Symphony House up to the river. Our members include stores, restaurants, galleries, hotels and spa-salons as well as property owners, banks, real estate firms and media outlets. We work with each member to help them market their business. Members have the opportunity to attend free monthly networking and educational events. The public can enjoy our annual events like the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival, Fall Gathering and so much more.”

The Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival presented by Capital One will be held this Saturday, May 20th, from noon to 5 pm (rain or shine). Held on Walnut Street from Broad to 19th, the annual event showcases Philadelphia’s finest fashions, cuisine and entertainment and attracts more than 50,000 people. We hope to see you there!
