Indulge at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona

    June 9, 2025 /

Story, photos and video by Cassie Hepler I was forced to visit Tucson, Arizona for a few nights at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa! Oh, no… A truly stunning resort on the inside, the Westin Paloma as locals call it, is a great place to settle in for a relaxing visit to Southern Arizona. With an inclusive resort shuttle, you can even explore some more without driving which means more tequila – or mezcal – tastings with their over 70 bottles available. Each room is nicely anchored at a cool 65 degrees and my room had a great balcony space overlooking the mountains and the pools. It’s also…

How to Stay Safe While Running in Your Local Area

    September 22, 2024 /

Pexels – CC0 License Running as a form of exercise is great for the body, provided you learn good form and keep good practice without burning yourself out. But it’s also true that heading out into the world can come with its own dangers, especially if you’re going to be exercising and tiring yourself out a little. Putting yourself into a wider environment where other people, and often vehicles, are moving around just as much as you requires clear observation and an understanding of the risks involved. That’s not to say going for a tri-weekly run is a deeply dangerous activity, but like any external expedition, it’s best to be…

Bank on Delicious Tastes, City Views at Loews Hotel in Philadelphia, PA

    July 24, 2019 /

When in Philly, stay and eat at Loews Hotel and Bank & Bourbon; both rate high marks in my playbook. “New York is a place where people go to reinvent themselves; Philadelphia is a place where people discover who they are.”  – Chef Peter McAndrews Story, photos by Sharon Kozden Maybe like me, you’re a country mouse, living outside Philadelphia’s suburbs while still close enough to identify Philly as your home city. Country life has its pluses: falling asleep to the sounds of crickets, sweet silence for lack of passing vehicles on long and winding roads and land expanses with more nature than neighbor views are just a few. I’m talking…

Belly Dancing is Good for the Body and Good for the Soul!

    January 25, 2018 /

Story, photos by Jennifer Ferrell  “(Belly Cardio) class is a community building experience. As well as making great friends you will learn awesome dance moves and get a life changing workout.”- Erin, Belly Cardio student Belly dance is a traditional dance dated back longer than to what history can attest. What we can gather is that there are many different styles and the dance has persisted over time to be one of the most exotic and adored practices all around the world. In today’s times, there are many different interpretations of the dance called fusion styles but the health benefits remain. Since belly dance is ancient, it is comprised of…
