Mompops joins Philly staples like Little Baby’s and Lil’ Pop Shop. Mompops add to the frozen dessert scene with their all vegan and allergen free options and are being sold as a healthy option to area schools.They also brought one of the more colorful displays. Shout-out to the chocolate sea salt pop!You want to wash that down with some kombucha? Of course you do! You live in Philly and you’re at a vegan food festival. You can buy Baba’s Brew all over the city in exactly the stores you think you could buy kombucha.Several vendors of animal friendly products set up shop, as well. Luca Chiara displayed their “leather” goods.This was a high point of the festival for me. Mom’s Organic Market took over nearly a whole side of the room to hand out free shopping bags to attendees, who filled them with snacks. They’re celebrating the opening of their new Cherry Hill location.Best packaged snacks came from V Marks the Shop, a Philly based online vendor of vegan products. I went online after and ordered their I Heart Keenwah puffs, and I’m told their (delicious) hummus will soon be available online as well. In the meantime, they’ll be at the Philly Chili Bowl.South Street’s Sweet Freedom Bakery is the city’s online vegan, allergy free, and gluten free bakery. They served up samples of their aptly named Magic Bars and also of their chocolate chip cookies which, as vegan cookies go, were quite edible!Some of the best prepared food came from PB&Jams Philadelphia. They offered up hazelnut butter with strawberries and their own “Baby Badu Bites,” neither of which are currently available on the website, but here’s hoping they find a way to branch out.Snap Kitchen, newly opened in Philadelphia, offered up samples of their prepared salads. Those who spend their lunch hour in Center City, where they have four locations, can sample their convenient prepared meals.This was the only new beer to me at the festival. Cherry Hill apparently has its very own micro brewer! Forgotten Boardwalk was serving up their delicious Lady 16 saison.The entire center of the room was devoted entirely to local brewers.On the funkier end of the vendor spectrum, Grape Cat sold their vegan clothing and accessories to those willing to sport cheetah print.
Overall, it was a good plan and we can’t wait to see how it improves for next year! Hint: More food is always a good thing!

A Vegan wrote the story and a Vegan wrote the headline as well. And to be honest, it is fake steak otherwise they would call it vegan food on a bun, that’s kind of their thing is the best Vegan cheesesteak in Philly. And leather is by definition “a durable and flexible material created by tanning animal rawhide and skin, often cattle hide” so it is, in fact imitation leather. Thanks for reading!
