Red Owl Tavern: One of the Best Ribeye Steaks in Philly
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler I’ve eaten at Red Owl Tavern a handful of times now and have always loved every perfectly-prepared dish and impressive, multi-talented booze list. However, this time I was really blown away by the sheer meaty perfection of the rib-eye steak. Suggested to be cooked medium, I happily obliged as she described how it is drizzled with herbal butter (more fat, more calories… yes, please!). Each bite was succulent, satisfying and better than the last. I loved it so much, I took half home to revel in another day of its heavenly flesh (and tasted just as delightful the next day!) But of course, no steak…

Feeling Nice? Go On a Holiday Hayride at Arasapha Farms
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler If Arasapha Farms seems familiar to you, there is good reason for it. It is also the home of the ever-popular Bates Motel Halloween attraction near Media, Pa. But lately they have been taking it to a sweeter, more family-friendly place full of twinkling lights, a reindeer, sheep, donkeys, nativity scene and more. You can grab some popcorn and hot cocoa at the food stand and even kits of S’more packages with wooden sticks to roast by the fire. Mr. and Mrs. Claus await inside to get an annual picture taken before watching the mechanical elves hard at work building toys for all the little…

Feeling Naughty? Check Out The Peek-A-Boo Revue in Philly
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler This Christmas, maybe you are feeling like Santa put you on the naughty list. If so, then it makes perfect sense to self-indulge in some Peek-A-Boo Revue Holiday Spectacular fun! This event was held at the Underground Arts last Friday night with a 7 p.m. start (which to those in the know meant secure a chair for general admission $25 or spring for up front table VIP action for $35). Things didn’t get rolling ’til well past 8:15 p.m. (darn Philly traffic snagged an orchestra member – yes, you read that right orchestra). These are some fancy broads. We arrived early-ish and I found a…

Max Brenner Philadelphia’s Frankenfoods
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler Sure, you know all about the happy buzz-inducing sweets at Max Brenner in Philadelphia like the amazing, tooth-rotting chocolate and marshmallow pizza. But did you know “Chocolate by the Bald Man” has a pretty solid and legitimate food and booze menu too? Of course there is some injection of chocolate or carb-loading here and there – but only the healthy kind (wink, wink) – dark chocolate that comes with a guilt free side. Seriously some of the best burritos and cheese steaks I’ve had in the city, I would go back for lunch, dinner or a bubbly brunch – with desserts of course.

Model Photoshoots Galore with Cassie Hepler Photography!
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler Please pardon the pause in publishing! I was traveling all Thanksgiving week and then immediately began working as the assistant editor at The Philadelphia Public Record and another freelance writing job for Fashion Times Co. in NYC. So life has been crazy hectic but in a good way! Don’t forget, I also write/do photography for Examiner.com and TasteScene.com so there’s always some writing and photography going on somewhere, it’s just a matter of what week day;) In the meantime, I have been wearing my photographer cap as well and shooting models galore. First, the fabulous and talented Drummer Girl and then the amazing Nashville sweetheart…
