Feeling Naughty? Check Out The Peek-A-Boo Revue in Philly
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler
This Christmas, maybe you are feeling like Santa put you on the naughty list. If so, then it makes perfect sense to self-indulge in some Peek-A-Boo Revue Holiday Spectacular fun! This event was held at the Underground Arts last Friday night with a 7 p.m. start (which to those in the know meant secure a chair for general admission $25 or spring for up front table VIP action for $35). Things didn’t get rolling ’til well past 8:15 p.m. (darn Philly traffic snagged an orchestra member – yes, you read that right orchestra). These are some fancy broads.
We arrived early-ish and I found a great spot near a large pole so I could pop up, grab a shot near the pole and not be in anyone’s way (below, empty chair closest to the table) as was requested by the lovely ladies themselves when I contacted them. This was one of many test shots and ironically served a great purpose later because…
Two girls arrived right as the show was starting, snuggled next to the man filming the event behind the VIP area and completely blocked me, the woman in front of me and the people in the next row over from the show’s beginning. I poked the one closest to me and told her I can’t see and she graciously ducked out. The other girl literally leaned out, put her hand on her hip and stood like the pole, blocking everyone’s view. After intermission (and some standing guy “leaning” on me, with what I don’t want to know), the gentleman in front of us politely told her she was blocking our views (and his wife too). She feigned her sincerest fake apology and proceeded to move – one inch closer to the poll. My fellow audience members and I fantasized about throwing various items at her until she walked away from her spot and I put my leg up against the metal table to form a nice “can’t pass here” bridge. This tramp literally climbed over my legs to get back to her show-blocking space! It was that point where I decided I would take her picture for the whole world to see.
Enough with this trollop, on with the show! But it was important to mention as I had to lean out to the right, try to remain steady, not use flash and block even more people’s views to get a shot. So my apologies to anyone behind me and for the shitty photos, apparently this trick caused a domino asshole view blocking effect. Regardless, enjoy the photo show and I hope it brings a smile to your face as it did mine!
