Valley Forge Casino: Jenny McCarthy’s First Female Comedy Troupe Kills It

Photos, story by Cassie Hepler

Can you believe there has never been an all-female comedy tour before? Neither can we! That seems so… old school. But it’s true. Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty, Sexy, Funny tour peaked our interest and led us to Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia, Pa. for an overnight adventure that was almost too good to be true.

Google maps had no problem finding the place and the actual entrance (it gets a little tricky out in KOP land). The key is knowing that the Raddison is attached to the Casino, with it’s own separate hotel above the casino (where we stayed). There are long hallways connected the two locations with clubs, restaurants, a seasonal pool, gym and more. Our room, while a little outdated and under-loved, was like a railroad apartment and had a jacuzzi bath with a comfy bed and hot shower. That’s all you need with a full agenda.

Off to Pacific Prime we went for dinner, which was obviously a well-rated steak and seafood restaurant. Tucked back in the corner all the way in the back where it was quiet was a perfect location – and close to the show (which was the convention center i.e. the basement steps leading right downstairs). Dinner was superb and well worth all the rave reviews.

After stuffing our faces and having some delicious French, German and Italian wine and bubbles, we were full and happy – and ready to laugh. After being quickly ushered in, there was a setup for drinks with a signature Singled Out cocktail from Jenny McCarthy’s MTV days. Our contact ran into us and helped us to our seats where we awaited anxiously for the beginning. A blessing and an annoyance, there was no cell phone cameras (or any other devices) allowed for the show which makes sense. Having everyone with a sea of cell phones in the air may have caused a riot.

Jenny McCarthy 1
Jenny McCarthy, still smokin’ hot, sweet and every teenage boys fantasy.

The show started and our lovely hostess with the mostest, Jenny McCarthy, came on after some funny videos of her screeching down a stripper pole and then licking it, making the audience chuckle and then gag. She introduced our first victim, fire-starter redhead April Macie. She had the crowd rolling with tons of body movement jokes (guys jerking it “in their natural habitat,” a little circular motion for the ladies, etc.) and lots of audience involvement (and embarrassment for one guy who was in the friend zone). A Howard Stern and Snoop Dogg favorite, she was a great opener and had all the ladies either loving it – or leaving. It was best to thin the crowd in the beginning for what was to come…

Up next was Tammy Pescatelli, your loveable Long Island-like lady full of the usual dry, NYC humor us on the East Coast are used to (is that sarcasm or is she just being honest?) The fellas seemed to like her well enough as well. One of our faves (and OK, maybe because we ended up running into her at Valley Green Tavern later that night which led to a night of fun nonsense…) was third in line.

McCarthy introduced Paula Bel as the late Sam Kinison of the bunch. We would have to agree whole heartedly. Her outlandish, swearing-laden jokes made jaws drop, ladies leaning over with laughter and a slew more ladies with sticks up their butts walk out (good riddance!). She referred lovingly to the Valley Forge Casino, “Where the hell am I? What kind of shit hole is this?” but said she loves a good shit hole (and meant it). Her reference to “wtf is this cover charge you have to pay to get in the casino” (you have to pay a $10 fee to get inside to deter people from mooching) was spot on to many newcomers. Her jokes about women needing to be a little more cautious with booze imbibing were just plain truth and then she again took it over the top, “Rape me!” she says, referring to her cougar status. She also referred to Jenny as her pimp, but in the most endearing way possible.

Lynne Koplitz was up next and you know any woman willing to go on stage in a moomoo was gonna be good. “This is what giving up looks like,” she said. But underneath she was rocking some stellar, sexy shiny pants. Her humor was familiar, like an old cat lady who just wants to snuggle. She was a nice, soft ending to the evening which leads us to the meet and greet.

A line wrapped around the curtains and back as Jenny McCarthy chatted with each person who paid $75 to get a photo taken. There was a guy in front of us with old PlayBoy magazines to sign that I’m sure most guys are totally “familiar” with… when it was our turn, she said “us girls have got to stick together.” Word, Jenny!

Drinks out at Valley Tavern with the best bartender ever named Dave, sat us next to Paula Bel which led to more drinks with Bel and friends, karaoke and a mechanical bull ride at the Western style bar below the Tavern, Deuces Wild Buckin’ Bull Saloon. Then onto the casino bar in the middle of the casino floor and then the slots where the previous night Bel won over $540 (we were not so lucky)!

In the morning, we were tired and starving so we headed over to the Radisson side of the hallway to Nosh Deli. What a wonderful spread and for only $15, they have a lovely buffet complete with omelet station and homemade waffles, unlimited coffee, tea and juice. We were told we had to take some donuts home too (and they were a divine snack later).

A quick stop at the gift shop before we left to grab some chocolate covered pretzels and graham crackers (we skipped the chocolate covered potato chips and cashews however), and we were on our way. Overall, it felt as if we took a whole weekend vacation in one night. We recommend you do the same. Check out their upcoming schedule of shows to make it seem longer including Frank Sinatra Jr. for all you swooners, Cheech and Chong for all you tokers and Thunder From Down Under for a killer ladies night (think of the meat… and greet!)
