Accomplishments Feel Great Especially in Florida

Photos, story by Cassie Hepler

If there’s one thing in the world that floats my boat, it is the sense of accomplishment. The feeling of “ahhh” comes to mind after a great slew of words turns into some sort of garbled prose. I have the same feeling when finishing a killer photoshoot and getting that shot. I found a realtor listing for the mansion that was the scene of last week’s photoshoot.

Beautiful is only one way to describe this jewel. My only addition, after I win the lottery, is an in-ground pool to satisfy my amphibian nature.

As promised, here is a rough listing of the many events that ensued on my Florida vacation. Pictures will be coming later of all the characters in this month’s story.

• Tuesday night (March 9, 2010) I arrived in Orlando, Florida, and we went to Cassey’s and met up with Clayton Senne and Cassie Soukup from the band Swansinger. What great people and fantastic musicians!
• Wednesday we went shopping at Publix, then walked downtown to Tastings to see the charismatic Sam Stone play acoustic, then out for a chill night with some local friends at a bar with many dead animals mounted on the wall. Saw a dog at the bar drinking Guiness.
• Thursday we went Cassadega, Fla., and I saw the medicine man/spiritual adviser Harry Byard who once again blew my mind with his spot-on visions. Then went to Back Booth for Andy McKee, an amazing guitarist who plucks strings like nobody’s business, then Lizzy’s to meet up with Peter Thornton, an amazing artist and producer, then Will’s Pub to see Pete’s friend Christina play, then Wally’s (a dive bar and very amusing), and then back downtown to Cassey’s.
• Friday the jam band Slow Claw boys came to town, then we went to Redlight Redlight to see them play, then to Back Booth for 80’s dance night (I love me some 80’s!).
• Saturday we went to the outdoor concert for Big 10-4 and Collective Soul and sipped on some potent Jack n’ gingers, then to The Social for Rogue Wave, then Cassey’s.
• Sunday was travel day to Clearwater Beach with the ocean, hot tub and heated pool.
• Monday was drive-down-the-coast day to Treasure Island, beach stop at Treasure Shores, then Ybor City in Tampa.
• Tuesday was Bok Tower Gardens day (a huge tower a wealthy eccentric from Philadelphia built complete with a mote on the highest point of central Florida complete with beautiful gardens) and then back to O-town.

And Wednesday morning, on Saint Patrick’s Day, I flew back to Philly.

The end. For now!
