Lolita Spicing Up SuperBowl Sunday with Mass Mexican Takeout

Story by Cassie Hepler

So the whole point of Super Bowl Sunday is the food, I mean the game, right? Let’s just stick with the former because let’s face it – that’s most of the fun is pigging out on delicious food and drinking ice cold beers to wash it all down. That and yelling at the TV.

Well, Lolita Philly has made it super simple and slightly lazy for you. But hey, Sundays are for rest anyway, dammit!

For Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, February 1, Chef Marcie Turney of Lolitais preparing a to-go taco feast for football fans to enjoy as they watch the game in the comforts of their own (or someone else’s) home. No matter if your favorite team made it to the ‘ship’ or not, your party will surely go down as a winner with this mouthwatering spread.

Lolita’s Super Bowl Taco Feast is $150, feeds eight to 10 people and includes:  Guajillo-Braised Short Ribs (2 lbs.);  Orange-Canela Pork Carnitas (2 lbs.);  Seared Potato, Mushrooms and Greens with Pasilla Chile (2 lbs.);  and sides include:  Guacamole Tradicional;  Tomato-Chipotle Salsa;  Tomatillo-Serrano Salsa;  Jicama-Cilantro-Radish Slaw;  Lime Crema;  Queso Fresco;  Limes;  Pickled Red Onions;  Corn Tortilla Chips;  San Roman Fresh Corn Tortillas (approx. 30 tortillas per order).

If that’s not enough food to stuff your faces, Lolita also offers optional add-ons that guests can either order individually or to accompany their game day feast. If you’re adding on, I would suggest the grilled corn and any of the traditional Mexican street food options. And you don’t need fancy beer to wash it all down, your typical go-to beer will pair nicely as the food will take the center stage on your taste buds regardless.

Now that’s a win-win! Happy face-stuffing. I mean, enjoy the game!
