Manatawny Still Works Rum Batch Tiki Party Kicks Off Spring Season with High Spirits

Manatawny Still Works just released their 3rd Rum Batch and celebrated with a huge Tiki Party on a sunny Saturday at the end of March. Steel drums, cocktail classes, tastings and food by Oscar’s Catering really set the Spring spirits high.

The Festive Bar Scene at MSW — The festive bar scene at Manatawy Still Works which means “The Place Where We Meet to Drink.” Indeed!

Inside the cavernous room, the sounds of the tropics mingling with the chatter of excitement for the party, bartenders discussing drinks and the clink of glasses. Plus, the first round was on the house! VP of Sales and Marketing Randy McKinley took us on a tour and we tasted all of the fine crafted spirits while the steel drums washed over the crowd.

The Tiki Party was held at MSW site across from the Sly Fox Brewery on Circle of Progress Drive, tucked away on the far reaches of Pottstown. The tasting room reached to the far ceiling with barrels of fine spirits stacked high, a rustic, inviting bar, and the most delicious crafted drinks you could ever sip. Methinks day drinking at MSW is gonna be a thing. (I don’t live that far away… I could get a ride…)

This Award-winning Rum is 118% proof, also called Navy proof, crafted after Jamaican and Colonial style rums.

Rich, warm, with notes of caramelized butterscotch, molasses, apricot, almond, guava, and vanilla, this 3rd batch rum is something you want in your bar stock, so hurry there’s only 200 bottles created! Serve it up in a daiquiri, neat, or on the rocks.

VP of Sales and Marketing Randy McKinley gave us a great tour of the distillery and a tasting of all their spirits – 3 Bitches vodka, white whiskeys, rums, gins and more. They were all fresh delicious spirits that we couldn’t wait to take home to enjoy. These are all carefully crafted in aged barrels from across the US, and brought here to PA to continue to live out their usefulness.

The Tiki Party was great fun, with tastings, cocktail classes, steel drums, music, food by Oscar’s Catering, desserts, and more drinks! Batch No 3 Rum was very butterscotch-y, warm, with hints of vanilla and was quote strong. Of course, I bought one of the rare bottles – only 200 were crafted!
