When my friend mentioned going to a cat show with Phoenix Feline Fanciers, I was all in before she finished that sentence! This is Arizona‘s biggest cat show after all and they claim to see up to 35 beautiful cat breeds but we certainly saw way more than that – and even held some which was a savory treat for this childless cat lady. Dubbed family friendly and for all ages, there were some children but mostly just cat lovers, fanatics and all the merch Miss or Mister Kitty can ever dream of under one roof. I don’t know why dog shows get to have all the fun… oh wait, I do because cats were stigmatized to be minions of witches aka wild women and we can’t have any of that rebellious nonsense. Until now, let your crazy cat lady (or dad) shine bright! Explore over 180 purebred and household cats compete for top cat in several different judging rings throughout the day including Maine Coon, Persian, Siamese, Devon Rex, Ragdoll, Bengal, Russian Blue, Siberian, Scottish Fold, Himalayan and over 30 other breeds! The best part is you can sit and watch cats on the judging table, or walk around and visit with the cats between judging – with consent of course from the owner and cat.
Located at Mesa Convention Center, admission is only $12 for adults, $8 for children, $10 for seniors and military while children under three are free. You can also save a couple bucks with a family 4 pack $28 (2 adults, 2 children 3-12 years old). Kids also get free cat coloring books for the first 100 children per day. Watch cats and kittens compete for Best in Show in each of the eight separate judging rings each day, enjoy the adorable and amusing cat costume contest around lunchtime each day as they struggle to wiggle out of said costume. Parking is always free and there’s so many shopping options for cats and humans alike with vendors selling cat-related items cat teasers, and cat grooming products. As always, All About Animals is always on site with many adoptable kittens and teenagers looking for their “furrever” homes! There is also a cafeteria style food court for the humans when they get the munchies.
Phoenix Feline Fanciers (PFF) annually hosts Arizona’s largest CFA all-breed cat show in December. The show is extremely popular with professional exhibitors, vendors and cat-loving spectators in the greater Phoenix area and beyond Arizona’s borders. The show is held annually and is fun for the entire family. The next show will take place Dec. 12-13, 2026 at the Mesa Convention Center in Mesa, Arizona. It will feature beautiful and competitive felines, both pedigreed cats and household pets, and their owners. It will also feature vendors with feline related merchandise, pedigreed kittens and adult cats for sale. Come and enjoy the festive holiday cage decorating and vote for your favorite cat! Phoenix Feline Fanciers was accepted as a Cat Fanciers’ Association, Inc. (CFA) affiliated club in February of 1993. The club members encourage the breeding of pedigree cats to the CFA standards; hold shows to promote interest in, and knowledge of, pedigreed cats through education; cultivate friendship and common interests among the members; and, promote the welfare of all cats. Annual shows have been successfully planned and hosted since 1993 with the exception of one year when show hall problems forced a cancellation. The holiday show theme “It’s Feline a Lot Like Christmas” was first used in 1995 and continues to this day. You can see photo albums from previous shows here. For several years, the annual PFF show was chosen as a “Friskies Lead Show,” which entitled the club to the full support of Friskies and their PR team. The Iams company have been generous with their sponsorship of past shows. The 2006 show had a new sponsor – feline Greenies. In 2007, they welcomed Royal Canin as a show sponser. If you always wanted to see a cat show in person, now is the time Arizona! It’s a purr-fect way to spend the holiday each year with heartfelt memories to last a lifetime.
