Dîner en Blanc Steps Up Fifth Anniversary to Art Museum
Photos, story by Deja Cromartie Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia celebrated its fifth anniversary with an unforgettable evening filled with elegance, food, art and music. The Art Museum was transformed into a beautiful “All American Paris.” There were about 5,000 people adorned in white clothing and accessories that taking photos with the Rocky Statue as well as running up and down the infamous Rocky Steps. The view was also a beautiful sight once everyone was set up with their tables. As a first time attendee of Dîner en Blanc, I was really impressed by the table decor. Bass booming musicians, street performances, games, food and curb to curb people aligned 6 blocks of the northern liberty section of Philadelphia. The annual block party celebrated the community and amazing culture in Northern Liberties. The all day free festival included over 150 vendors from restaurants, beer gardens, authors, art galleries, and a variety of local business owners and entrepreneurs. The Democratic National Convention left its mark on the streets of Philly in more ways than one. From protestors and tourist filling up the side walks to beautiful colors of red, white and blue splashed across every monumental building the city has to offer. Carnival Games, Ferris Wheel Rides and Fun with Flyers Fans and Their Families at the Annual Philadelphia Flyers Wives Carnival
Story, photos by Jill Beckel Rides, games, food and fun were abundant at the 39th Annual Flyers Wives Carnival which took place on Sunday, March 13th at the Wells Fargo Center. Among the newly-added attractions were a center-ice carousel, carnival games, and the opportunity to purchase player autographs prior to the carnival. This annual event welcomed thousands of Flyers fans to mingle with players and enjoy a family-friendly afternoon all while supporting a great cause (local charities). To the delight of both young and old, last year’s six-story-high Ferris wheel also returned to this year’s carnival. Not Enough Cheesesteaks for the Hungry Crowd at the First Annual Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival

Most are even willing to wait in line for their favorite. But the lines at Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival were unlike any line that you’d typically see at your favorite cheesesteak spot. They wrapped around throughout the crowds, seeming to go on forever and ever. The event was held at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 24. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, you must have been living under a rock for the past 15 years. Wizards and muggles alike flocked to Chestnut Hill, PA for the annual Harry Potter Festival on Oct. 16 to 17th where Chestnut Hill turned into the much-loved fictional wizarding world of Harry Potter. The magic-filled weekend started with a Harry Potter Pub Crawl. True, there’s not much drinking in J. K.
