Viva Las Vegas!

Back from Las Vegas and well rested again and ready to rock and roll:) I was so psyched getting there but by the time you leave, you are beat like a dead horse! Which always means a week well done! Before I left, I finished wrapping up covering a new barbershop in Manayunk, Hair Jazz’s 25th anniversary and shooting an art show. It was also an amazing weekend beforehand celebrating a housewarming with a good friend and another friend’s birthday downtown, which lead me to meet some amazing people who also share my passion of travel… maybe I will be heading to Australia next, the universe keeps pointing that way:) I enjoyed a rare girl’s night with my fellow blogger http://lvluvlagwme.wordpress.com/ with wine, cheese, fruit and soul searching talks and giggles. I love that girl! Some more modeling popped up mid-week as well as some make-up projects so it was a full day of fashion fun. More Heart was in store for me as there was a cover band at Gorgas Park so I met some friends and had some fun and plan to visit some more until it’s too cold to hang outside. Somehow ended up in Bryn Mawr that weekend which leads me to Vegas week!

What a trip indeed… we stayed at The Luxor, which was a pyramid shaped hotel resort featuring Carrot Top and Chris Angel. The strip was full of unusual characters, including the groping Elvis (see picture below). A lot of days were spent at various pools to fight off the 105 degree heat and the nights at VIP clubs. I used my charisma and brains (thanks Chris Hornack!) to get us in to some of the hottest dance clubs for free – my favorite word! The Thunder from Down Under lived up to their reputation and those men can break dance, spin on their heads, you name it they probably did it. We also enjoyed a lovely French dinner with octopus, salmon, gnocchi, white wine, homemade ice cream and cake. I didn’t do any gambling as I find no fun in it however the spinning BMW did tempt me a few times. When it was time for me to go, the airline offered $450 to stay as they had overbooked the flight but I was a walking zombie at that point and knew sleep was needed asap.

So here I am, back in Philly action! This week I have two modeling gigs, one for a hippy fashion theme and the other fitness photography for one of Scott Church’s followers. I will also be covering the new Main Street Bar and Grill, formerly Darkhorse as it changes hands again. I am also looking forward to trying out Hot Box Yoga on Main Street and absorbing the positive energy and people it provides. One of my model friends Hannah will be performing at The Grape Room this Thursday night at 9 p.m., she’s adorable and sweet but a rocker on stage – come check her out! This weekend is a music based visit home as my childhood friend is hosting a CD release party for Kinsey, his project from A Street Studios, his music recording studio in central Pa. After that I am taking my talented and handsome 15-year-old nephew to the studio to give him some guidance to be a musician. He can listen and play within an hour both sax and guitar! Now that is something to cultivate:) Until the next post, have a great month of August and I will do the same! Cheers:)
