Ocean Prime’s 5 and 10 Happy Hour Might Just Lead to Delicious Dinner

Story, photos by Deja Cromartie

Often known as the official date spot in my circle of friends, Ocean Prime is switching things up a bit to cater the millennial on the go who might want to wind down after a long day of work. 5 & 10 is a happy hour menu featuring bites, beers, and bubbles for $5 & $10 bucks.  That wasn’t a typo, for $5 you can taste 13 beers. If beer isn’t your thing, the cocktails are $10 and they also offer bottles of bubbles for half off on Mondays. As a cocktail type of girl, I was excited to experience the delicious cocktails that Ocean Prime had to offer.

Who doesn’t love champagne? Especially when it’s half priced.

There was one drink in particular that was my favorite! The Berries and Bubbles was a drink with all the bells and whistles. It was yummy and it was smoking – literally. The fabulous drink was made with Belvedere Citrus Vodka, house-made sour, Domaine Chandon Brut, and marinated berries.

The best drink on the menu, The Berries and Bubbles!

Next, the appetizers came out and they were absolutely amazing. My favorite app were the truffle fries. The fries were nice and crisp with the perfect amount of seasoning.

Ocean Prime really saved the best for last with their savory dinners and sides. We may have dabbled in the main menu at this point, we were hooked. The lobster mashed potatoes were to die for! They were perfectly seasoned and the lobster was so tender.

What I ordered: Colorado lamb chops with arugula pesto, snap peas, and mint vinaigrette.

The icing on the cake, literally was the dessert.  I opted for the pound cake, and it was light and fluffy.

The perfect ending to a wonderful dinner: Baked Alaska pound cake with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, toasted meringue and fresh raspberries.

Overall, Ocean Prime is my new favorite place to visit for happy hour and dinner. It would be cool if they added a live DJ to pump up the energy!
