2017 Great Chefs Event Continues to Give Back with Marc Vetri and Alex’s Lemonade

There’s no other event like The 12th Annual Great Chefs Event where 1,200 food-loving philanthropists gathered for the culinary event of the year. Urban Outfitters, Inc.‘s corporate location at the Philadelphia Navy Yard was the place to find hand-selected chefs to raise money for an excellent cause. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Spring Family Festival Blossoms at National Constitution Center
Story, photos by Tyra Gardner Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, has teamed up with the National Constitution Center and Northwestern Mutual to a host a Spring Family Festival in the heart of Old City Philadelphia. The lemonade stand themed festival took place on Saturday, April 15 at the National Constitution Center. This is the first year having this event. “ I would like this to be an annual event here held during the Spring,” said Liz Scott. The Great Chefs Event Combines Food, Fashion and Charity Deliciously
Photos, story by Deja Cromartie The Vetri Family restaurants and Vetri Community Partnership brought together more than 40 chefs from around the world to the city of Philadelphia for an amazing dining experience that benefited Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Vetri Community Partnership. Great Chefs raised over $800K for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Vetri Foundation for Children

It’s literally a sort of fasting before the feast and makes competitive eating seem like a real sport somehow. The key (to me at least) is to try at least one bite of everything. This year, I was unable to make it (only I could mess up my neck and back before Dana Hot Yoga class even begins!) but here are the highlights and photo story below.
