Full and Happy at The Yogi’s Table
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler
A couple of months ago at the new Jose Garces joint Distrito in Moorestown, N.J., I mentioned to the PR team that there should be a place to do yoga and eat at the same place. The director agreed and said she’s on board if I start it. Well, those words must have resonated with the universe because Onna Hepner is doing just that – an infusion of yoga followed by a nutritious and delicious meal.
My friend Carla Wertz who volunteers with me at Project Sunshine suggested the two of us connect – and that we did. I signed up for a Monday class where the yoga starts at 6:45 p.m. and is one hour. The dinner portion began around 8 p.m. and usually lasts an hour as well. People usually dissipate around 9:30 p.m.
The Yogi’s Table at Full & Happy Cooking Studio is located on the top of a brownstone in a studio apartment on the third floor across from Onna’s pad. The address is North 15th between Fairmount & Spring Garden. To enter, ring the 3rd floor (top) buzzer when you arrive. There is free street parking available.
The talented Stacia Nero was our yoga teacher for the day. Afterwards, a green juice was served and the dinner menu always inspired by what’s available fresh at the Farmer’s Market.
As part of Onna’s quest to educate about what’s fresh and local, and how to cook more healthfully for ourselves, the evening had an overview of the evening’s dishes in a 4-course meal setting for $50.
As with most yoga practices, there are what I call “paparazzi” photos being taken at any time for social media or website sake as this was its third time (and yes, it was a charm).
Onna and Stacia are also available for private cooking lessons for yourself or a loved one as well as customized gift certificates. Not only does Onna offer Full and Happy, she is also a chef, food photographer for QVC and budding entrepreneur obviously.
