Tasty Wings, Burgers and Beer at P.J. Whelihan’s Pub & Restaurant in Oaks, PA

Story, photos by Jill Beckel

The newest member of the P.J. Whelihan’s brand, P.J. Oaks, will be your new go-to spot for happy hour, game nights and meeting up with friends. P.J. Oaks opened its doors in Montgomery County, PA in 2016. P.J. Whelihan’s Pub + Restaurant is part of the well-loved P.J.W. Restaurant group. Now with 14 locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and an additional 3 arena locations, P.J. Whelihan’s is quickly becoming a Philadelphia area staple. Known for a massive craft beer selection, an incomparable game-day experience, and of course, The Official Wing of Wing Bowl, P.J.’s demonstrates every day just how much #PJsDoesItBetter.

We stopped by the P.J. Oaks restaurant located at 180 Mill Road in Oaks on a Wednesday night for dinner and drinks. This location is open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. for lunch, dinner and late-night gatherings. The General Manager, Amy Kradzinski, welcomed us and showed us to our table. Our server, Samantha, recommended the wings and the JD Burger, so we went with those and were not disappointed! For their famous wings, we chose a half ‘n half order of hot ‘n honey signature sauce and mild sauce. The wings were big and served very hot and crispy with just the right amount of sauce and plenty of dipping sauce and celery sticks. The JD Bacon Burger is cooked to your specification with Vermont white cheddar, bacon, and Jack Daniels maple ketchup. The Cheesesteak Nachos were on point with tortilla chips topped with Philly’s finest shaved steak, cheddar jack and American cheese – a cheesesteak in nacho form! We also got to try their special beer – the PJW Copper Lager featuring German hops and European malts.

The relaxed atmosphere was a welcome mid-week break from the workweek. People were talking at the bar over beers, watching the many games that were on, eating dinner and having a great time. The TV’s weren’t too loud to not be able to carry on a conversation if you weren’t that interested in the games.

Don’t forget to stay up to date with P.J.’s specials and events by following them on social media @PJsPub and with the hashtag #PJsDoesItBetter and #PJsOaks.
