Tacos, Pizza and Cupcakes – Oh My! The Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival Rocked the Yunk
By Jill Beckel This year’s sixth biannual Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival on Sunday, April 12, featured delicious food, live performances and entertainment. Held in the spring and the fall, this festival of food highlights neighborhood eateries and food trucks. A beautiful, sunny spring day brought out an estimated 40,000 people (!) to Main Street, Manayunk (and starting last year, they finally shut down Main Street for it). Despite the crowded lines, that didn’t stop most people from lining up for their food truck favorites. It was a perfect mix of kids, dogs, ‘Yunkers and people from all over the Philadelphia area. Everyone came hungry and eager to try out an assortment of…

Lolita Spicing Up SuperBowl Sunday with Mass Mexican Takeout
Story by Cassie Hepler So the whole point of Super Bowl Sunday is the food, I mean the game, right? Let’s just stick with the former because let’s face it – that’s most of the fun is pigging out on delicious food and drinking ice cold beers to wash it all down. That and yelling at the TV. Well, Lolita Philly has made it super simple and slightly lazy for you. But hey, Sundays are for rest anyway, dammit! For Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, February 1, Chef Marcie Turney of Lolitais preparing a to-go taco feast for football fans to enjoy as they watch the game in the comforts…

Red Owl Tavern: One of the Best Ribeye Steaks in Philly
Story, photos by Cassie Hepler I’ve eaten at Red Owl Tavern a handful of times now and have always loved every perfectly-prepared dish and impressive, multi-talented booze list. However, this time I was really blown away by the sheer meaty perfection of the rib-eye steak. Suggested to be cooked medium, I happily obliged as she described how it is drizzled with herbal butter (more fat, more calories… yes, please!). Each bite was succulent, satisfying and better than the last. I loved it so much, I took half home to revel in another day of its heavenly flesh (and tasted just as delightful the next day!) But of course, no steak…

21 Best Margaritas in Philadelphia
Story by Cassie Hepler One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor. There’s a reason for that saying and I bet you want to find out why the hard way. Well, if you try every margarita on this list, I’m not responsible for the wrestling, public drunkenness arrest that may ensue ‘cuz that’s way more than four! But whether you like a salted, plain or sugar rim, you can surely work your way through the best margaritas in Philly, one by …err, four by four. Tequilas Rittenhouse Square The real name is Los Catrines Tequilas but since no one knows how to pronounce it properly, it’s just Tequilas. With quiet sidewalk…
